The comprehensive test results cover clinically validated drug-gene interactions with the highest level of evidence from CPIC/FDA, including over 100 FDA-approved Rx & OTC medications.

Why is this test important?

Pharmacogenomics allows your drug treatment to be personalized based on your unique genetics. It can reduce trial and error in drug selection and dosing regimens. By predicting how you’ll respond to medications, you can avoid unwanted side effects, allergic reactions, and dangerous interactions. This maximizes treatment safety and effectiveness from the start, improving your overall health outcomes and quality of life.

Can my test results be forwarded directly to my healthcare provider?

We will not directly send the results to the patient’s providers, but the patients have access to the PGx results as a PDF file. Patients can share that with their providers, either as an electronic file or a print-out

Can this test provide guidance for all of my current medications?

We follow CPIC guidelines, FDA labels, and other reliable sources to provide the most relevant and up-to-date insights. While the test may not cover all medications, it offers comprehensive information on many commonly prescribed drugs where genetic factors are particularly important.

Are there any potential risks or side effects of undergoing this test?

No, there are no risks or side effects associated with this test. It is a simple cheek swab.

Can the test be done at home, or do I need to visit a specific location?

You can complete the test conveniently at home. We’ll ship the testing kit directly to your address, and you can return the sample to us at no cost.

How long will the consultation session last?

Typically, the consultation will take 30-45 minutes.

Will my insurance cover this service?

We are a cash-only service, but we can provide documentation for you to submit an insurance claim. Please note that reimbursement depends on your insurance provider, so coverage is not guaranteed.

How accurate are the test results?

Our pharmacogenetic test is very accurate, clinically validated, certified by Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA), accredited by Commission on Office Laboratory Accreditation (COLA), and approved by Molecular Diagnostic Service Program (MolDX).

How is my medical information protected, and will it be used for any other purposes?

As the authorization form indicates, we will not use patient’s medical information for any other use except to care for our patients. All information will be secured and protected in a HIPAA-compliant cloud storage with appropriate authentication to access it.

Will I need to repeat this test in the future, or is it a one-time process?

A PGx test usually only needs to be done once. However, as new research and treatments become available, we may re-evaluate the data from your test to give you updated information. You won’t need to retake the test to benefit from this. As new genetic variants are discovered, our lab might test for more variants in the future than are currently included in the PGx panel. If you’re interested in checking for these additional variants later on, you can choose to retake the PGx test with a more comprehensive panel at that time.

Can a payment plan be put into place if I cannot pay the test fee all at once?

No. The payment needs to be made in full amount.
